Alfama é o mais antigo e um dos mais típicos bairros da cidade
de Lisboa.
É um bairro muito peculiar em se assemelhar a uma antiga aldeia não só em
aspecto como por ter uma comunidade relativamente pequena e próxima. O
bairro é frequentado diariamente por turistas portugueses e estrangeiros, sendo
considerado como o mais seguro de toda a cidade de Lisboa. É conhecido pelos
seus restaurantes e casas de fado, assim como pelos festejos dos Santos Populares, em especial na noite de Santo
António, de 12 para 13 de Junho.

Este
bairro é provavelmente o mais agradável da cidade.
A
maioria dos prédios resistiu ao terramoto de 1755. Apesar de praticamente já não
existirem casas mouriscas, o bairro conserva um pouco do ambiente dessa época (ruelas,
escadarias e roupa a secar nas janelas). As áreas mais arruinadas foram alvo de
profundas obras de restauro e a vida desenvolve-se tranquilamente em volta das
pequenas mercearias e tabernas.
Sendo
este um bairro histórico e dos mais antigos da cidade, existem inúmeros locais
que pode visitar! Em baixo deixamos algumas sugestões
para conhecer da melhor forma este bairro lisboeta e em seguida é apresentado um mapa correspondente aos números indicados no texto.
Pode
começar a sua viagem pela zona do Terreiro do Paço, seguir até ao Largo do
Chafariz de Dentro e visitar a Casa do Fado e da Guitarra Portuguesa (1), daí
pode seguir pelas várias ruas estreitas do bairro até ao Miradouro de Santa Luzia
(2) e até ao Miradouro das Portas do Sol (3) onde pode ter uma bela vista sobre
o rio e sobre a cidade.
Seguidamente
pode visitar o Castelo de São Jorge (4) e apreciar toda a sua estrutura e a paisagem
única que oferece.
Pode
depois descer pela encosta do Castelo e parar na Escola de Circo de Chapitô (5)
que possui um restaurante de excelente qualidade. Continuando a sua viagem,
chega à famosa Sé Catedral (6) onde pode visitar o Tesouro da Sé e as Ruínas
Romanas.
Para
visitar este belo bairro pode também optar por apanhar o conhecido eléctrico nº
28 que faz um trajecto pelo interior do mesmo.
Sábados
e domingos pode aproveitar para visitar a Feira da Ladra(7), uma das mais
famosas feiras onde pode encontrar de tudo a um preço muito acessível.
Não se
esqueça de entrar numa tasca típica e aproveitar as iguarias e o ambiente exclusivo
dos bairros de Lisboa.
Se
visitar a cidade em Junho não perca as Festas Populares, como foi dito no
início, que enchem todos os bairros com o cheiro da sardinha assada, de boa
música e animação.

Alfama is the oldest and one of the most typical
neighborhoods of Lisbon.
This neighborhood is very peculiar that resembles
an ancient village not only in appearance but also by the relatively small
community and close. The neighborhood is frequented daily by Portuguese and
foreign tourists, being regarded as the safest of all the city of Lisbon. It is
known for its restaurants and fado houses, as well as the Popular Saints celebrations,
especially on the night of St. Anthony, from 12 to 13 June.

This neighborhood is probably the nicest of the city.
Most buildings withstood the earthquake of 1755. Although
practically no longer exist Moorish houses, the neighborhood retains some of the
atmosphere of that time (alleyways, stairways and clothes to dry on the
windows). The ruined areas were targeted for deep restoration and life develops
quietly around the small grocery stores and taverns.

This being a historic district and the oldest of Lisbon,
there are numerous places that you can visit!
You can begin your journey through the area of the Palace
Square, next to the Fountain Square and visit the Inside the House of Fado and
Portuguese Guitar (1), then you can choose the various narrow streets of the
neighborhood to the Point View of Santa Luzia (1) and to the Point View of Portas do Sol
(3) where you can enjoy the amazing beautiful view over the river and the city.
Then you can visit the Castle of São Jorge (4) and appreciate
the structure and unique landscape offering.
You can then descend the slope of the castle and stop the
Circus School of Chapitô (5) who owns a restaurant of excellent quality.
Continuing its journey, you will reach the famous Cathedral (6) where you can
visit the Treasury of the Cathedral and the Roman ruins.
To visit Alfama you can also choose to take the famous tram
number 28 that makes a journey through the interior of the neighborhood.
On Saturdays and Sundays you can enjoy visiting the flea
market (7), one of the most famous fairs where you can find everything at a
very affordable price.
Do not forget to enter a tavern and enjoy the delicacies
typical and exclusive atmosphere of the neighborhoods of Lisbon.
If you visit Lisbon in June do not miss the Festivities, as
was said earlier, that fill all neighborhoods with the smell of grilled
sardines, good music and animation.
